By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi-Serum

It's official, winter has ruined my skin. I've battled with colds, chest infections and dry chapped skin and now I'm left with a dull complexion that is screaming for some glow. I answered that cry and picked up the By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi-Serum, highly rated and loved by my girl crush Lydia Millen there's no wonder I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

Having the same skin tone as Casper I opted for the shade Apricot Glow which is the lighter golden shade that adds a warm glow to the skin rather than any obvious colour. I apply this under my foundation after my skin care routine and because of the thin consistency it sinks into the skin quickly and doesn't cake with my moisturiser or foundation.

As well as giving you the most incredible glow and perfected complexion, I've noticed my pore size has reduced, imperfections are blurred and any signs of redness have been dramatically improved all thanks to this serums genius colour control. The colour control allows you to add the product to your skin, tailoring with your skin tone to create natural warmth, great for those like me who can tend to go a little too bronze happy. The scent of the serum is a very mild, rose scent which quickly disappears after application making it a joy to apply.

If you're a lover of By Terry it'll be no surprise that the packaging is luxurious and beautiful and the easy pump dispenser means you don't go overboard and waste any product. This has become my holy grail "primer" and I don't apply my make up without applying this first, I'm hooked and can see myself purchasing Sunny Flash as soon as the sun comes out...

Goodbye 2016

As I sit here with Harry Potter on the tv and Dominos on the way, I thought it's time to reflect on 2016. Usually I'm not one to post these kind of things, I actually find the whole concept of New Year's and the "new start" stuff cringe in all fairness but for me, 2016 has been a real shit storm and I'm about to walk you through it.

January saw me walk out of a job I was very unhappy in, I was bullied by management and constantly held back with no prospect of progression. I was working 2 peoples jobs as well as being the one person in the place who knew how to do everything, so after a member of staff turned on me out of the blue and accused me of trying to start a fight with her, I walked out of my job, never working my notice and I didn't look back.

February was a month where I struggled financially, I was unemployed without any money coming in and I had no idea how I would be able to pay my bills or keep a roof over my head but thanks to a friend, I stepped into the world of Locum Dispensing and worked myself into the ground to earn as much as I could to keep my bills a float.

It soon rolled into March and April, I was still continuing to work as locum but the hours were killing me, I would work my way around North and West Yorkshire leaving the house around 6am and sometimes not returning till 12am.

May was a good month, I was offered a full time job after being recognised for my hard work, which I started at the beginning of May. I had my wisdom teeth removed (not good) but in the waiting room I met someone really special with the same name who has become one of my most reliable and best friends I could have asked for. But as I gained a new friend I lost an old one, my best friend cut me out of her life and couldn't support me with my mental health, choosing to cut out her friends and make room for her new boyfriend.

June and July saw me break up with my boyfriend which was very tough, as well as starting a new job I was really low and heartbroken about us splitting up. In August I went on holiday with my family to Greece, September was my birthday month. October was a blur and November I celebrated my mum and brothers birthday. My mental health hasn't been fantastic either, I've been up and down all year.

And here we are, December and Christmas is over, and we're saying goodbye to another year. I have to say after the rollercoaster that was this year I'm very much looking forward to welcoming 2017. I don't know what 2017 has in store for me but I'm going to make damn sure it's better than the year I've just had. There's so many things I want to achieve and I'm more determined than ever to make things happen for myself.

Happy New Year and all the best in 2017 from BethBlogsBeauty.
