Body Care By Ameliorate

Ever since I was little, I've had this terrible goose-bumpy texture on the tops of my arms (known as Keratosis Pilaris) which I've not been able to remove, I've tried all the body creams, exfoliators and gloves under the sun and nothing will shift it. As I've got older it's actually got worse and it now is on the tops of my legs, not badly but it's still there and being a girl, I dream of soft, supple and smooth limbs. The only way to improve this I've found so far is sun exposure and obviously living in not-so-sunny England, I don't get that everyday, so when I was approached by a PR company and asked if I'd like to try Ameliorate, a body care range designed for those with Keratosis Pilaris, I jumped at the chance. Could this be the end of my bumpy limbs?
AMELIORATE Skin Smoothing body reviewAMELIORATE Skin Smoothing Body Mitt
I've been using the range since I got it and I have to say I'm really impressed. In the shower I use the Skin Smoothing Shower Cream* to wash my body and then I apply extra to the Skin Smoothing Body Mitt* and exfoliate my arms and my legs. The shower cream is scentless but lathers up enough to properly clean your body. I particularly like the mitt as it's unlike any exfoliating glove I've tried before, the glove is a thin, lightweight material which is abrasive but not too harsh like traditional exfoliating gloves. I work the shower cream into a lather on the mitt and exfoliate my body ready for moisturiser when I get out.

When I have dried off, I apply a 50p size amount of the Skin Smoothing Body Lotion* to the tops of my arms and then around double this for the tops of my legs. Like the shower gel, the lotion is scentless and very gentle on the skin. I've found the lotion to be thick and luxurious, and when I apply this and it's quickly absorbed into the skin leaving my arms soft and hydrated. The real test is how this leaves my body after a long period of time, in the past I've tried moisturisers and they've improved the texture of my skin but haven't left long lasting results. I can say that using the combination of the mitt, shower cream and body lotion I've found the appearance of my skin to be dramatically improved, I'm not cured yet by all means but it the texture is definitely a lot softer and they don't look as bumpy.

Have you got Keratosis Pilaris? What body care do you use? Let me know below :)

What I Love Lately

I didn't get round to posting my monthly favourites, Easter has been crazy busy in work and I've had so much on that blogging has taken a bit of back seat. Anyway I'm here with a "What I Love Lately" post, in the future if I ever don't find time to write a monthly favourites post I will probably do this instead... Now, lets get to the good stuff...

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
I received this in the Time4Sleep package which I wrote about here, and ever since I got it I've been using it every night. I love the scent of Lavender, especially to help calm me and help sleep. It's a dream and I drift off into a deep and calming sleep, waking up in the morning fresh and well rested.

I hate myself for buying this. 1) It's expensive. 2) It's so good. If you're after a light weight concealer with a decent amount of coverage without caking then this is "The One". I'm not mad about the packaging because with this you can't see how much product is left but I can overlook that slight problem and appreciate the product inside. I haven't used any other concealer for over a month now and I can't see myself ever doing so, this is my "holy grail" concealer now. Big claim.

Nars Sheer Glow
Now this is the wrong shade for me which I've recently learnt but after purchasing the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and being bitterly disappointed with it, I went back to my trusty sheer glow and it really has to be my favourite foundation. The coverage is brilliant as well as giving a glow, now it's been hotter I do have to powder my face but it lasts all day and my complexion looks flawless. Seeing it's nearly all gone, I'll be repurchasing it in the correct shade.

Avene Eau Thermale Thermal Spring Water
I work in air conditioning and during the day my skin gets tight and sometimes my foundation can become quite dry, so a quick spritz of this will add some moisture back into my skin. It's also great for cooling down when you're feeling hot, I've been taking this to the gym with me and use a couple of sprays to calm down my beetroot face. It's pricey for water in a canister but it's one I've been reaching for daily.

Avene Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Serum
Speaking of dry skin, I've been mixing up my serums and this one in particular is one I've really been enjoying. I take two pumps massaged into my skin morning and evening and after applying there is a visible difference in the appearance of my skin but also the texture. If you're on a budget and wanting a serum to add into your routine, I highly recommend this. I've been choosing this over my Clarins HydraQuench serum and I've seen better results.

I'm back and I'm sorry I've neglected this little space. Tell me what you've been loving and leave your recommendations below, payday is next week girls ;)
