Beating The Christmas Stress

It's that time of year and Christmas is literally days away so I thought I'd share all my festive tips that I've found to help me through this stressful season...

Lists: They're your best friend. I made all my christmas shopping last minute but I was in and out of town quicker than you can click your fingers, I knew what I needed to buy and who for and now all my presents are wrapped and under the tree.

Family Time: Remember Christmas isn't a time for arguments and tension. I love spending time with my family during Christmas but we're all partial to a difference of opinion sometimes but life is too short for silly arguments, enjoy the day with your family.

Don't Stress: Try not to stress about what you haven't got or what will go wrong, Christmas is only one day and if you don't manage to get a gift you thought would be nice, don't worry. It's the thought that counts not the quantity. Recognise when you're getting stressed about certain situations but don't let it ruin your festive holiday, the Time4Sleep Relaxtion Zone has just launched a helpful guide to recognise stress and how to combat it, I found the section about how stress affects the body to be really interesting.

Sleep: Get a goodnights sleep. I'm terrible for an irregular sleeping pattern and that makes me grouchy and moody so I use this helpful guide to prepare myself before bed and ensure a good nights rest.

Worry Less: I've eaten my weight in chocolate, I'm actually sick of the stuff but it doesn't matter because it's Christmas. I've enjoyed myself and I'm not worrying about putting on a couple of pounds, when New Year comes I'll shift it. Indulge and give yourself a break.

Remember What's Important: I lost my granddad at the beginning of December and it's been a really hard time for all the family, he was a fantastic man who we all loved massively and because of this, I've realised it doesn't matter what you've got for dinner or what presents you receive, your family are the most important people in your life and that's all that matters.

No Pressure: I've really been beating myself up about not blogging around Christmas time because I love the festive posts so much but ultimately, life comes first and life is more important. My little space on the internet isn't going anywhere and I can always return when I feel ready. My posts will be becoming more frequent in 2015 and I hope you make a proper return to blogging soon.
