It's very rare I do a tag on my blog but when I saw Amelia and Essie's video I couldn't wait to do it so here we are ladies, it's the lip product addict tag!
I love the Nuxe Reve De Miel, I have the stick version that I bought in Cyprus and it's still going strong, this nourishes my lips and stops them getting chapped. It's so hydrating and a perfect base for any lipstick.
Best eye-catching red?
I'm not much of a red lip wearer but when I do I love the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 110, it's a gorgeous orange based red which really suits my skintone. The formula of this is great, it dries matte and stays put for hours. It's a great lipstick from the high street and every time I've worn this I've received so many compliments.
Best luxury & best drugstore?
My favourite luxury lipstick is the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella, the colour is beautiful and the formula of this lipstick is fantastic, I love that they come in a stick form which makes application so easy. The lasting power of this lipstick is around 2-3 hours before I need to reapply and lets not forget the pigmentation, look how deep that red is. For high drug store, I love the Topshop lipsticks, they have a wide range of colours at affordable prices and the finish of these are beautiful, I have a few Topshop lipsticks but my favourite by far is Whimsical, a nude peach with matte finish.
Best MAC lipstick?
MAC Hue Lipstick will always be my favourite lipstick from the brand, I have a few MAC lipsticks now and there's just not one lipstick out there that compares to Hue. This lipstick is so creamy and is the perfect nude lipstick, this isn't too pink, brown or pale. This lipstick goes everywhere with me and completes any make up look, I especially like wearing this with a dark smokey eye.
The most disappointing?
I love Hourglass and I've not found a product I don't love from them apart from this, the Hourglass Opaque Rouge in Muse was such a disappointment in my opinion, I love the colour and the pigmentation but this goes on the lip and dries to a dry, slightly tacky finish. I find on application you have to be super quick with this otherwise it cakes on the lips and forms awful lumps if too much is applied. The colour choice they have on offer is very good but I've found you can buy these colours in lipstick form, I'll be opting for them instead.
Liner - yes or no?
I'm gonna say no for this one really, I own one lip liner which is from Topshop and I only ever really use it if I'm wearing the Kate Moss Rimmel 110 lipstick, but most cases are I'm wearing a nude lipstick so I never really bother with lip liner. I know they're very good to use with dark lipsticks to stop bleeding around the edge of the lips but personally I don't wear dark lipsticks enough to warrant lip liners.
The Clarins Instant Lip Perfector is the only gloss I'll wear on my lips now, these hydrate the lips, add a teeny hint of colour and give lips a glossy finish without that sticky finish. I have the shade 02 Apricot which has a hint of peachy gloss to the lips without having to worry about the wind blowing your hair and suffering from them dreaded hair stuck in lipgloss moments.
I have been loving the Rimmel Apocolips Lip Lacquer in Luna, I'm a bit late on the bandwagon with these but they give just the perfect amount of colour and a hint of gloss, this has been on my lips whenever I've opted for a peachy coral lip. The only downside is they don't last that long but they're a great high street lip lacquer so you don't feel so bad constantly reapplying it. I've seen a few people wearing the shade Celestial which is a dusty pink shade, I think it would be a good shade to ease me into wearing pink lips more often.
