Clinique Cleansing Balm

As soon as a cleansing balm product comes out, I'm all over it and the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm - woah that was a mouthful - is no exception. This cleansing balm is so sought after that it's been coming and going out of stock ever since it's release. I've trailed every department store in Leeds and surrounding Yorkshire for this as well as online and to no avail did I manage to get my hands on it but when Clinique emailed me to tell me it was back in stock, I clicked "checkout" before I had chance to blink.

What I really love about this product is the simplicity of it, there's no colours, fragrance or other nasties and that's just what I'm after in a cleansing balm. I love the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm but it's too heavy, the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm is amazing but far too oily but the Clinique is a mixture of the two and it's my favourite of them all so far. The consistency of this balm looks a bit like lard, it has the same type of consistency but once I rub it in my hands it turns into a oil which then emulsifies when water is added. This really does remove every scrap of make up, the woman at Harvey Nichols put a bit on the back of my clean hands and I was amazed how much dirt was removed. The balm doesn't strip the skin, it thoroughly cleanses my face and leaves my skin ready for the next step in my routine. For a simple cleansing balm, this is amazing and I'm so pleased with it. This is so affordable, retailing at £21 this is an absolute bargain especially as there are others on the market retailing for over £30 which aren't as good.

Well done Clinique, you've done it again.

  3. I use this and love it so much! I prefer the packaging of this to the Emma Hardie one, though I've never tried the latter.

  4. This is a product that i have been itching to try but cannot find it in stock anywhere~ same problem as you had really. I am so intrigued by this because i have read so many raves about it and i really want to try it out for myself as i love cleansers that leaves the skin soft to touch and not feel too stripped of my natural oils. I enjoy using Clinique products because they are so simple to use and fragrance free too which is a bonus.

Thank you so much for the review~ I'm glad you got your hands on it eventually and enjoying using it! <3

  8. I'm always tempted by balms, I love the way they feel when using them but I just don't think they're suitable for my skin. I've tried Emma Hardie and it broke me out like you wouldn't believe, that was maybe because it's quite fragranced?

  9. I've wanted to try a balm cleanser ever since hearing about how good they are. I didn't have much luck with Clinique's 3 step range in the past but everyone seems to love this one!

  11. This sounds like such an amazing cleansing balm. I've only ever tried the Rose Neal's Yard Balm which was incredible, but soooo pricey! I might give this a try when it runs out! xx
