The Empties Post 001

Hello, my name is Beth and I'm a shopaholic. I've been a busy bee when it comes to buying beauty products and my recent splurge has crippled me. So here are my recent empties, which sort of justify my spending.

001. The L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil is my favourite of the empties and I'm sad to see it go. I suffer with incredibly dry skin so using this in the shower and adding it to my bath has dramatically improved the texture and appearance of my skin. I will be repurchasing this, I just wish you could buy it in a bigger bottle. The smell is divine and it's very nourishing. It makes them sunday pamper sessions all the more luxurious.

002. Being an eyeshadow amateur I had no idea about primers and potions that needed to be applied beforehand but I got the Urban Decay Primer Potion when I purchased my Naked palette. This is only the mini version but it's lasted me well over a year, a small amount applied over the lid makes eyeshadows last all day, even overnight (yes I've drunkenly slept in my make-up... Sacrilegious), it doesn't budge and doesn't crease the eyeshadow. I'd definitely repurchase this but not yet, I'd like to try the Nars one.

003. Another eye cream, another disappointment. I got the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye in a set I bought a while ago and after loving the ANR serum, I thought this would be great but to no avail, it wasn't. Dark circles and bags are still continuing to be the bane of my life.

004. Along with the eye cream, I also recieved a mini Estee Lauder Idealist Illuminator Serum and again, this was disappointing. All it is is a glorified shimmery liquid. Estee Lauder claim this is supposed to reduce pores and significantly reduce the look of uneven skintone - it did no such thing, if anything, my skin just looked a little more glowing that normal. No lasting affects with this product.

005. I wrote about the Aromatherapy Associates Mini Bath Oil Collection here, I've finished the de-stress muscle vial, the scents are beautiful, very luxurious but I find it doesn't last in the bath and then you're just sat in water. I wouldn't repurchase these, I think they're very overpriced for what they are.

006. This deluxe sample of the Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins was something I recieved when I purchased the full size, this has lasted me ages and it's a very rich luxurious product. When I've applied this, I wake up with nourished glowing skin. I find that it can be too rich for my normal/dry/combination skin so depending on how dehydrated my skin is, I will use this as a treatment instead of a nightly moisturiser. All in all, an effective product which I will recommend to anyone.

007. And finally, another mini - I raided the Vichy sample drawer at one of the work shops and took a big bag of samples. The Vichy Micellar Water is a lot like Bioderma but not as harsh, removing make-up is a dream and I found that it didn't strip my skin as much as Bioderma. This is something I'd think about purchasing full size but not in the near future, Clarins is next on my list!

I hope you like this post, it's something a bit different from me but it's good to see that I'm using products and not just throwing them away - that way, I can maybe justify buying myself a new foundation or some skincare... Whoopsie ;)
