The Red Lip

Very late on the scene but I've mastered the red lip that will give even Rita Ora a run for her money... Well, sort of. I may not have her trusty Mac Ruby Woo lipstick in hand but an amateur like me needs the basics and I've found two highstreet products to create the look.

Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 110: £5.49, Topshop Lip Liner in Deception: £5.00

Application is simple, I line my lips with the Topshop Lip Liner in Deception - the colour has a deep red undertone but it's so subtle. The formula is creamy and glides over the lips like a dream, no pulling at the skin and no chalky dry liners here thank you!
Now onto the star of the show - Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 110, this orange toned red is a firm favourite in my collection now. With my NC15 skintone, I've tried and failed with reds but this shade is so complimentary that it's suits the paler of us girls. Ahh hail Kate Moss! Wow, never thought I'd say that...

The Edit: Mission Relaxation

Phone off, bubbles at the ready and the candles are lit! It's time for team pamper at the BBB HQ.

This Works Deep Sleep candle: £21 SALE, L'Occitane Almond Shower oil: £16.50, Aromatherapy Associates Mini Bath & Shower Oil Collection: £22.52 SALE

My mission is complete and utter relaxation and I'm going to tell you how I try to achieve it.

Now I'm all for low lighting and candles and to set the mood, my candle of the moment is the This Works Deep Sleep Candle, it's lavender and chamomile but if you're wanting a tranquil lavender haven, then this candle seriously disappoints. No scent, nada, zilch!

And while the candle is burning scentlessly away, I turn on the hot taps and get soaking. At the moment I'm alternating between the L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil - originally intended for the shower but it works wonders in the bath. About a capful and you have a foaming and beautifully scented bath.

If I feel like pushing the boat out, I choose the Aromatherapy Associates Mini Bath & Shower Oil Collection, another beautiful smelling collection but not worth the hype. The scent lasts 15 minutes at most and this collection isn't the most friendly to the purse strings.

My pamper session seems to be a bit of a let down but the L'Occitane oil has saved the day, I'll be indulging in this and trying to burn the last of my scentless candle...

Bioderma H20 Crealine Solution

Well aren't I the biggest blogging cliche ever. Here we are again, another review of the Bioderma H20 Crealine solution, featured on every blog and YouTube video at the moment but now I know why. Jenny sent me this and I'm very grateful, so check out her blog!
Bioderma H20 Crealine Solution: around £16 on eBay

This has to be my go-to make up remover, this makes cleansing so simple and easy, if I've had a long day at work chances are I've applied more to last the day, especially mascara so when I come home after a long shift, I soak two cotton pads and press onto my eyes. Within seconds my mascara as has melted and removes like a dream.

I turn over the cotton pads and just give my face a quick wipe over, one thing I have to say about this is it did tend to break me out when I first started using it and I do find that it can be quite drying on my already very dry skin. The Bioderma also tastes horrible to avoid wiping your lips with it, but on that note, it does remove lipstick well.

I'm really impressed with this but I don't think it's something I'd repurchase, it tends to bring out spots and it's not really suitable on my skin. The biggest disadvantage to the Bioderma is the lack of availability over here in the UK!

Have you tried Bioderma or others like it?

Post Christmas Haul

As soon as Christmas was over and the sales were announced, I searched every website possible to find some bargains. I'm one of these people who doesn't believe in sales, I think to myself "if it's in the sale now and no one's bought it, then I'm not going to", this rule definitely applies to clothes shops but beauty is another question.

This Works Deep Sleep candle: £21, Estee Lauder Daywear set: £33, Liz Earle Muslin Cloths: £4, L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil: £16.50, L'Occitane Shea Butter hand cream: free with purchase, Mac Studio Sculpt: £24, Aromatherapy Associates mini bath oil collection: £22.52, Topshop Lip Liner in Deception: £5, Topshop Lipstick in Macaroon: £8, Topshop nail polish in Daredevil: £6.

The only real sale bits that I picked up was the This Works Deep Sleep candle and Aromatherapy Associates mini bath oil collection from Beauty Bay and the Estee Lauder Daywear set from Boots. The rest of the items were full priced. I was a woman on a mission when I was around Leeds, I even went into House of Fraser and came face to face with the Mulberry bag I've been lusting after but I walked away, I deserve a gold medal for that. I took full advantage of my first full time wage and well and truly treated myself. My new beauty items look lovely sat on my dressing table and I'm thoroughly enjoying using them - the L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil is heavenly!

Have you been to the sales? Did you pick up anything?

Monthly Favourites: December

Happy New Year you lovely lot! I hope you all had a great time last night and are nursing a hangover, I am fortunately not because I didn't drink that much and spent some quality time with a friend which was nice, this was the first time in a while I enjoyed New Years Eve.

But it's that time again and the last one of 2012 - Favourites time! This month I've been embracing the high street, adding new picks to my make-up and changing my routines.

001. I've read so many rave reviews on blogs about the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, it's radiance boosting, good coverage and lasts really well on my skin. I originally saw reviews from bloggers such as Zoella and she has amazing skin so when I went to Superdrug in the search of an easy everyday foundation to wear for work, I picked up this.

002. And as well as picking up the foundation, I also grabbed the concealer in the 3 for 2 offer. I twisted the last of my L'oreal Lumi Magique highlighting concealer out and I've been in hunt for an alternative that's slightly cheaper. This concealer has more coverage and not as highlighting as the L'oreal one but it's perfect for under eye dark circles on early mornings.

003. This is the only high end favourite this month! I wrote a rave review the YSL Shocking mascara here. This has been amazing for creating volume to my lashes, the formula is great, the packaging is luxurious. This is a new mascara favourite.

004. I never thought this mascara would be in my favourites at the beginning of the month, I stashed it away in my make-up collection and left it but on the quest for long voluminous lashes, I dug it out and teamed with the YSL Shocking mascara, it's a perfect combo. I apply this first to lengthen and seperate my lashes, wait for it to dry and add lashings of YSL Shocking to create the volume!

005. Another wonder product from Rimmel, this Kate Moss lipstick in 110 is amazing! The formula is perfect, it's creamy even though it has a matte finish and it lasts hours. I applied this on a night out and only had to touch up once. Every blogger seems to be wearing this at the moment and I can see why. Rimmel have really upped their game recently and I'm so surprised at how much I like their products especially after they were a brand I hated (still don't like their mascaras though)!

What are your December favourites? Have you tried any of these products?
