Xen-Tan Deep Bronze Luxe Lotion

I know my bronzed self is in hibernation but a little bit of her can't help but peek out to banish her Casper skin! Enter the Xen-Tan Deep Bronze Luxe...

Xen-Tan Deep Bronze Luxe: £29

This is without a doubt, the best fake tan I have ever come across - bold statement, I know. I've had numerous mishaps with fake tan: orange arms, missed patches, brown elbows, tan dripping down the legs when it's raining but with this? NONE.

My pre-tanning ritual includes a harsh exfoliation, I have severe dry skin over my arms and back as well as my legs so I grab my Soap & Glory Exfoliation Mitts and take to my pins with a moisturising shower gel - lather, rinse & no repeat - I'm red raw. I towel myself off and grab my nearest moisturiser sitting on my dressing table, in this case it's the Aveeno Shea Butter Body Lotion. I usually do this routine 2 nights before I want to show off the tan!

Now onto the tan, in the second evening, I apply the lotion all over my body. I find that applying moisturiser then tan on the same evening can cause the tan to crumble on my skin. The tan is a thick green/brown lotion which is easily applied over the body using a fake tan mitt. There isn't much of a colour guide with this but its so easy to apply - even a tanning novice could master this!
Now onto the colour, this gives the most beautiful olive tone to the skin which for a Casper like myself is a godsend. The colour isn't too dark, it doesn't have any orange tone and looks 100% natural - It was almost like I was back in September after Corfu *sigh*.
The best part of this, like there isn't enough already, is the lasting power this stuff has - I applied it before a night out, left it to develop, rinsed and within the following week, I still had an olive glow!

Now if this hasn't all put you off... The price might. I bought this from Harvey Nichols and it did set me back a whopping £29 for 236ml but I can see this going a long way as I only apply this to my top half and found a good pump of this covers each arm and my chest. If you're wanting to try this but can't justifty the price, Feel Unique sell this for £21.50 here with free delivery.

Have you tried Xen-Tan? Do you like any of their products?

  2. I have been wanting to try a REAL fake tan, I only use Dove summer glow at the minute which is more of a tinted moisturizer! I think when I have a bit more money I will splash out on some of this!
