Holiday Make-up

As you know, I'm going on holiday - next Friday, eeek! I've finally figured which make-up I'll be taking with me.
I've opted for light weight and simple make-up. Firstly after I've cleansed and moisturised, I'll apply No.7 Dual Protection tinted moisturiser in Fair with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush which gives good coverage but it's still light. The moisturiser dries matt which is the main thing I love about this product, I think being in a hot country and getting sweaty and then adding a dewy moisturiser would just be a disaster. I then apply Estee Lauder's Double Wear concealer in shade 02 Light Medium to any redness and blemishes, I don't use the gloss on the other end, it smells like strawberry Calpol, it's sickening and then some YSL Touche Ecalt in shade 1 under my eyes to banish any dark circles.

For highlight, I apply my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle, it's such a beautiful highlighter, I apply it to the tops of my cheekbones, cupids bow, down the nose and on the temples then add my Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess bronzer to my cheekbones, temples and dust it down my neck. My Real Techniques Blush brush is great for applying bronzer, the brush is tapered so it's good for contouring.

To finish it off, if I'm feeling like eyeshadow, I use my Urban Decay primer and Naked Palette with my Jemma Kidd brushes, my most use shades are Virgin for all over the lid up to the eyebrow, Half Baked sweeped all over the lid and Smog in the crease to create a bronze smokey eye and to complete I apply my Revlon Grow Luscious mascara which is my favourite mascara at the moment.

And there we have it! This will most likely be my last post before I go away but keep your eyes peeled for a special holiday favourites post when I come back and maybe a post including my holiday photos.
Hope you're all well!

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara

In every girls make-up bag (especially mine) the staple item is mascara. If I was stuck on a desert island and I was only allowed one make-up item, it would be mascara.

Little info.. I've always used L'oreal Telescopic mascara in Carbon Black, it was my go-to mascara for years, I like that it lengthened my lashes and separated them and give my lashes that false lash effect which is advertised on every television advert and make-up stand. And I'll say this, raise your hand if you pick at your lashes (*raises hand* who doesn't? I'm being good at the moment though) but I found that the L'oreal Telescopic made my eyelashes a lot weaker and they even fell out when removing my make-up. I found the mascara coated them and weakened them and this wasn't doing anything for me anymore. I have previously tried the Benefit They're Real mascara but it's a horrendous story and it turns out, I was allergic to it.

Now let me introduce you to the best mascara and my new holy grail product...

Revlon Grow Lucious mascara: £10.99

As you can see, the applicator is actually a brush, I was so used to a comb, it was hard to get used to at first but after a few applications, I finally got the hang of it and don't even have any trouble applying it to the littler lashes in the corner of my eyes.
The product is buildable, you can apply a bit just to wake you up day-to-day or intensify the volume by applying more for a look more suitable for the evening, it all depends on your personal preference. The photo shows an day-to-day application. The mascara dries very quickly and doesn't smudge. There has been times where I've had a little bit of product run off on my bottom lashes but that's because it's been warm and I've got long bottom lashes, this usually happens with every mascara I've used.

This photo was taken before I wrote the review and I can say I've definitely seen a difference to my lashes, the thickness, length and strength of my lashes has dramatically improved since using this and I find that when I apply it, the mascara does set and coat my lashes like the L'oreal Telescopic, The Grow Luscious mascara definitely has the same consistency of a high end mascara. I've also had this product around a month and it's still going strong, no signs of it drying out yet!

The Grow Luscious mascara is also available in different colours and comes in a waterproof formula which I'll be trying out when I go on holiday. Now I've used this mascara, I definitely won't be turning back.
